Privacy Policy

The short version

HomeKept stores your home profile, appliances, checklist, cost log, and any files you add to the vault on your own device. We don't require an account, we don't show ads, we don't sell your data, we run no cross-context behavioral ad trackers, and we never use your content to train AI. In the free app, your data never reaches our servers at all.

What we collect, and where it lives

On your device (not sent to us): your home and appliance details, checklist and maintenance history, costs, settings, and any manuals, warranties, receipts or photos you store in the vault. These live in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB on the device you use.

If you contact us: when you send feedback or email support, we receive the message you write, your app version, and basic browser information, so we can respond and fix issues.

If you buy Pro: payment is processed by Stripe; we receive a confirmation and issue a license key. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Service providers (sub-processors)

We use only the providers needed to run the service, over TLS 1.3: Cloudflare (edge hosting, security, and — only if you enable optional features — Workers KV storage; transient edge logs are retained 7–30 days); Stripe (payment processing, only if you buy Pro); Amazon (affiliate "reorder" links you choose to follow). If we enable email, Resend delivers it. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies, service workers, local storage

HomeKept uses a service worker and local storage to work offline and remember your data on your device. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention & your control

Your on-device data stays until you remove it. You can export your full record as an open-format file at any time, and delete everything instantly from the app (Help → Delete my data) or at homekeptly.com/delete-data. Because the free app keeps nothing on our servers, deletion on your device is complete. A Pro license record (a key only, no personal data) can be removed on request to admin@ahlchemy.org.

Local storage can be cleared by your browser

Because your data is stored by your browser, it can be erased by the operating system or browser — for example when device storage runs low, or on iOS/WebKit after about seven days without opening the app. This is outside our control. Export a backup regularly so you can restore if your browser clears local data.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including under the CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws), you may have rights to access, delete, or port your personal information. For HomeKept, you can exercise access, portability, and deletion yourself with the in-app Export and Delete tools; for anything else, contact admin@ahlchemy.org. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Children

HomeKept is intended for adults managing a household and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
