1. Acceptance

By using HomeKept you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What HomeKept is — and isn't

HomeKept provides general home-maintenance reminders, checklists, and record-keeping for your convenience. It is not professional advice. Maintenance intervals are general guidance; always follow your manufacturer's instructions and local codes, and hire a licensed professional for work that requires one (gas, electrical, structural, roofing, etc.). You are solely responsible for your own safety and for how and when you perform any task. Recall and warranty information is provided for convenience and may be incomplete or out of date — verify with the manufacturer and official sources.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use HomeKept. A one-time Pro purchase unlocks additional features on your devices; it is a license, not a sale of the software.

4. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app: no unlawful use, no attempts to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, and no use that infringes others' rights.

5. Your content

Files you add to the vault (manuals, warranties, receipts, photos) stay on your device; you retain all rights to them. We do not access, host, or claim any license to that content in the free app. You are responsible for keeping your own backups (see "Local storage" in the Privacy Policy).

6. Purchases & refunds

HomeKept Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription, no auto-renewal), processed by Stripe, and unlocks Pro features on your device. If you're not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of purchase at admin@ahlchemy.org for a full refund.

7. Affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Some "reorder" links in the app are affiliate links; purchases made through them may earn us a commission at no additional cost to you. These are provided for convenience and are not endorsements of any specific product.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

HomeKept is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that following its reminders will prevent any particular problem, damage, or loss.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ahlchemy Author Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Ahlchemy Author Company harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the app or violation of these Terms.

11. Dispute resolution & arbitration

Before filing any claim, you agree to first try to resolve it informally by emailing admin@ahlchemy.org and allowing 30 days. If unresolved, disputes will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, seated in Webster County, Missouri (or conducted virtually for claims under $10,000). You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, with venue and forum in Webster County, Missouri.

13. App stores

If you obtained HomeKept through a third-party app store, these Terms are between you and Ahlchemy Author Company, not the store. Where you use an Apple-distributed build, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. The software is subject to U.S. export control laws (EAR); you warrant you are not located in an embargoed country or on a denied-party list.

14. Changes, severability, contact

We may update these Terms; the effective date above will change. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Contact: admin@ahlchemy.org.
